The standard intercooler and the MTC intercooler both had similar intercooler intake temperatures at around 90 degrees through 5 runs in winter.

At the other side of the intercooler into the engine the standard intercooler temperatures were not great at 55-60 degrees whereas the MTC intercooler temperatures were between 18-22 degrees over 5 runs.

This intercooler weighs around 10kg and provides near 100% more volume and 100% more surface area than the standard intercooler.

The intercooler fits to the standard hoses perfectly and the standard clips on the car are fine to use.

On some models you will have to make 2 small 90 degree brackets up to hold the intercooler in place on the car (we don’t supply the brackets but they are very simple to make).

The intercooler will fit plug and play with the following vehicles:

• BMW 7 Series – F01/F02 – 730d, 740d, 740i
• BMW 6 Series – F06/F12/F13 – 630d, 640d, 630i
• BMW 5 Series – F07/F10/F11 – 518d, 520d, 525d, 530d, 535d, 535i

Professional installation is recommended and should take approximately 2-3 hours.
